How I spent the work week running more than 111 kilometers

My legs have held up, although they are still fragile. I have to admit that after finishing the last race of the week, which was short and slow, I felt happy. Happy for several reasons.

Happy because I haven’t been injured again.
Happy because I ran 35 kilometres on Saturday and I was able to push a bit at the end.
Happy because I have combined it with work and family.
But it is also true that before each training session I am still afraid of being injured again at any time. I have improved many aspects compared to the last preparation 10 years ago, but the small detail of having bones 10 years older is difficult to alter.

How I have found 12 hours to go out for a run

Better nutrition, sleep and training planning let me dream that I might be able to match or even improve my best time. Maybe updated 2024 mobile phone number data not in Eindhoven, but who knows what could come next. Finding 12 hours each week is a challenge, but day after day I am achieving it.

Shortening Freeletics: Much to my regret I have to accept that not everything is possible and certainly not at the same time. Freeletics training creates an additional strain so I have changed my sessions. I don’t usually include legs on days with intense sessions (or very little) and I also shorten the training time so that I don’t have to get up even earlier.
Moving on to the post of the day: What I am doing now. Instead of writing Wednesday’s post on Tuesday morning I am now doing it between the end of the day and dinner. This way I can leave tomorrow earlier and I am less stressed.

Not making it optional

Going out to train is not optional. Running a marathon is it the best wordpress hosting in 2024? again will be a major challenge for my body and mind and I don’t want to have to say on race day that the preparation has not been optimal.
On top of all this I have training on Tuesdays and Thursdays plus games on Saturdays. Running is not the only challenge. Having time for everything is certainly also a challenge.

What I have left in the next six weeks

It’s funny that six weeks of training seems like very usa data little to me. In absolute days it’s 42 days, which doesn’t sound so bad at first. I’ve faced these last few weeks of training with great enthusiasm and joy because after a very rainy start in July, summer has finally shown its best side at the end of August in Germany.

Of the six weeks, I have four weeks left to reach the level I’m looking for. The last two weeks of a marathon are just about maintaining the level and arriving in the most relaxed way possible on race day.

In this phase, I have to train the following

Get used to the distance with at least two days of more than 35 kilometers.
Get used to the race pace with the help of a 10 and 21 kilometer race.
On a daily and weekly level:

Organize the outings to be back on time before the first client meeting with my consulting client.
Combining family, training, work and coaching the football team to be at the top in all fields of action.
Maintaining health by avoiding junk food, alcohol, muscle overload and above all sleeping well every day.
